From Thalat near the Nam Ngum Lake, Mrs Song established Thavisouk Guesthouse in the centre of Vang Vieng in the mid 1990s. She expanded the original business with a tour agency, and realized her dream to create a riverside haven when she opened Thavisouk Resort - also known as Les Jardins de Vang Vieng - in 2003.
